Personal Fundraiser

I just moved to the Hutch as Chief Data Officer and Professor of Biostatistics after more than a decade at Johns Hopkins. Professionally, I work to help researchers and doctors find the next generation of cancer cures. Like for so many people, the fight against cancer is also deeply, deeply personal for me. When I was 7, I lost my biological mother to breast cancer. For me, fundraising for the Hutch is about the urgency of speeding research and treatment so other kids, parents, and families don't lose a loved one. 

Fred Hutch has made some of the world’s most important medical advances - from developing bone marrow transplantation as a cure for leukemia, to pioneering powerful therapies that harness the immune system to fight cancer, to leading national and international initiatives that enable earlier cancer diagnoses and more effective treatments. This leading-edge research depends on private contributions that fuel novel studies, which have the power to make a profound difference. My own team is working to build the data systems, machine learning models, and new data technologies that will accelerate precision oncology research for the next decade at the Hutch. I'm proud to represent my incredible colleagues on this team.
