It’s my birthday, and I know the perfect gift: your support for Fred Hutch! 

My Story: 

In 2022 during a routine scan a mass was found on my liver. Over the next few months and a couple of biopsies later we were told it is cancer. It is news that no one wants to hear and changes your life in an instant. Upon further diagnoses and several scans later, it was determined to be stage four Neuroendocrine Carcinoid that had metastases to my liver. We went to Fred Hutch Cancer Center for a second opinión and ended up transferring my care to them.  It has turn out to be such a blessing. The summer of 2023 I had surgery to remove two primary tumors in my ilium, six tumors in my liver, several lymph nodes, gall bladder, and appendix. Although I am still living with cancer, the surgery was successful in removing all the tumors.  My oncology and surgical team at Fred Hutch and UW medical center have been absolutely amazing. 

To help support the amazing work that Fred Hutch does for so many, I’ve decided to fundraise for Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and more specifically Dr Jonathan Sham's Research.

As I thought about my birthday this year, I realized that I wanted to do something especially meaningful. I care about this cause because cancer affects too many people, and because a healthier world is possible. Research is how we’ll get there, and you and I can help!
