Personal Fundraiser

Brian Dahl was diagnosed with melanoma in February 2019 and battled for nearly five years. Brian's effort and commitment to fighting cancer gave us all more time with him and we will forever be inspired by how gracefully he endured the agony of cancer. There was no doubt cancer took a toll on Brian, but he always kept a smile on his face and never let it decrease his ability to share love and joy with all. 

Brian was born on February 19, 1956 in Seattle, WA to Wesley and Esther Dahl. He was a loving father, wonderful husband, and one of the greatest friends. Brian loved watching the Mariners, Husky football, and spending time with family and his wife of 40 years, Linda. He had the unique ability to make everyone feel special and included. We lost Brian on October 2nd, 2023 but he continues to live on in our memories and in all the lives he's touched. He leaves a legacy of having made each of us better people and the world a better place.

Brian developed a passionate interest in the Obliteride fundraising efforts and expressed not only a desire to raise funds for the organization but was also planning on pursuing a volunteer position with the group. He found that in the 2022 Obliteride event, the top 5 individual fundraisers were listed on the Obliteride website. He set a goal for himself to be listed in that group and was frustrated as he realized that he may not be around to participate as the fundraising efforts for the 2023 campaign concluded in September.  

We thank the Obliteride group for allowing fundraising on behalf of Brian for the 2024 campaign to begin early and thank all of you who have decided to participate in helping Brian reach his goal! Brian shared that he wanted his children and grandchildren to be able to see his name listed within that group of leading fundraisers for the campaign when the fundraising efforts for 2024 are concluded in September. His comment when talking about his goal was: "I can do that!".

Fred Hutch experts are dedicated to saving lives, and they won't stop until there are treatments and cures for every person who needs them. With your participation, Brian will be ready to help!
