JeffK's Going to be OK -- let's pay it forward for everyone else!

This fundraising page is a celebration of how far I’ve come on this journey -- "JeffK is going to be OK", so let's pay it forward together for everyone else.

Karina and I can’t begin to express again how thankful we are for all of your love and support every step of this journey so far, and I know it will continue in the years to come as we watch and defend vigilantly.

  • On Tuesday, 2/27/18... they said "YOU HAVE CANCER"
  • On Thursday, 3/15/18... Dr. Greta Bernier operated and removed my tumor
  • On Monday, 4/23/18... Dr. Stacey Cohen began my 6-month course of chemotherapy infusions
  • On Monday, 10/8/18... I took my last chemo pill
  • On Thursday, 10/18/18... I got my first "all clear" CT scan
  • On Monday, 3/25/19... I got my "1 year anniversary" colonoscopy... AND IT WAS ALL CLEAR!!!

We are grateful, joyful, overwhelmed, (still) exhaling an infinitely pent up breath, and looking forward while aching for our friends and family — those who have suffered more intensely and those who have passed.

I am still here today because of Fred Hutch, the University of Washington, and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

I’m here today because of cancer research and improved treatments. And there is no better way to commemorate my experience than by taking action to improve even more lives.  I believe in Fred Hutch because scientists there are at the scientific frontlines — leading the charge to find better ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer and related diseases.

Hutch researchers are harnessing the immune system to fight tumors. They are developing new treatments for people who once had no options. And they are finding new ways to use more and better data to improve care. Together, their work is improving countless lives and bringing the Hutch closer to their ultimate goal: cures for most, if not all, cancers.

I know we all want to see a world where no one has to fear this disease.

Let’s invest in the world-changing science that will get us there.

On this one-year anniversary of my own cancer diagnosis and journey, please join me and donate to Fred Hutch today.

We love you -- and thank you!!!
