Welcome to my fundraising page!
I am an early-career scientist, virologist, and immunologist currently working at Fred Hutch as a postdoctoral research fellow. For nearly four years, I have worked with Dr. Michael Emerman, PhD to uncover how viruses can adapt from animals to humans and lead to pandemics such as those caused by HIV, influenza, Zika, and now coronavirus. As a former first responder, I have witnessed firsthand the human suffering caused by these viruses and was inspired to pursue pandemic preparedness research for my career. Watching COVID-19 sweep through all the communities I have lived has reinvigorated my mission to help stop this pandemic and prevent the next.
There are many organizations you can donate towards the COVID-19 response. However, the one I know and trust the most is Fred Hutch, a world-class nonprofit cancer and virology research center.
Did you know?
- Fred Hutch’s experts in epidemiology and disease modeling were pivotal to enacting Washington State’s life-saving public health measures that helped flatten the initial surge and prevent the worst-case scenario. They continue to work tirelessly to track disease trends and inform public health policy that continues to save lives.
- Fred Hutch virologists are now working overtime to understand the basic biology of coronavirus infection, replication, and spread. This work is foundational for the development and evaluation of COVID-19 therapeutics.
- Fred Hutch serves as the NIH’s COVID-19 Prevention Network operations hub, coordinating rapid and scientifically-sound clinical trials of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, as well as monoclonal antibody therapies.
Fred Hutch scientists and staff are working tirelessly to end this pandemic and bring effective vaccines and therapeutics to the public. All donations raised before December 31 will be matched, so your commitment goes twice as far through this fundraiser.
Thank you for considering a donation - let's end this pandemic and prevent the next.
