What the #gvhd? Who would of thought a person could survive acute myloid lukemia and then be killed by Graft Versus Host Disease? Those new healthy white blood cells can start attacking healthy cells. . .  I say "Let's All Get Along" My goal is to cure GVHD. We definitely don't want the Lukemia to come out of remission and we don't want to keep our imune system suppressed. We want the host cells and the graft cells to get along. My battle cry is "Let's ALL Get Along!

My Sister is a survivor of Acute Myloid Lukemia thanks to Fred Hutch!  She has inspired me to raise awareness and funds to CURE GVHD! I walk dogs in San Francisco and have for the past 30 years. I have been able to get all kinds of dogs to get along and this is what we want to do with the host and donor cells. 

The Scientists at Fred Hutch are at the forefront in technology and are making strides to solve this puzzle. The thing is, this disease does not get the kind of funding Lukemia does. But that is about to change. I am creating a grass roots campaign to CURE GRAFT vs HOST DISEASE.
