My First Obliteride is a Big Thank You to Fred Hutch!

Summer and fall of 2022, I was in chemo treatment for Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma. The folks at the Fred Hutch Cancer Center were amazing and gave me a wonderful story that I will carry for the rest of my life: cancer survival. The people there and the culture they create is a beautiful thing to behold and was so crucial to me during one of the most challenging times of my life to date.

Last summer in 2023 I was recovered enough to complete my first Obliteride. I was invited to join the Catch the Spider team for a gravel ride we affectionately call the "Ogriteride". It was a beautiful summer day in the mountains east of Seattle with a wonderful group of seasoned Spiders! It was another great story I will always carry with me.

This summer, I'm in again. 100%. The 2024 Obliteride/Ogriteride will be on Sunday, August 11th. I'll be donning my earned Catch the Spider jersey, but more importantly, this year I'll be dedicating my ride to the nursing staff in the Fred Hutch Infusion Suite, 5th floor.

Thank you for your interest and support, whether through your power-giving thoughts on August 11th or through any donations you are able to put towards Fred Hutch cancer treatment and research.
