Team Lauren

First, thank you for taking the time to check out this fund-raising page. We are all bombarded with so many things seeking our attention on a daily basis. I am honored that you are reading this. I am teaming up with my Aunt Barb Nellen Thomas in honor of "Team Lauren".

We (Team Lauren) are climbing Mt. Rainier in July 2021 to raise money for Fred Hutch cancer research. This climb is dedicated to Lauren Hart who we lost to acute lymphoblasic leukemia in November 2020. In November 2019 my Aunt Barb was catching up with her at a family wedding, hearing about her career and post college life. The next day, suddenly not feeling well, she was in the emergency room diagnosed with leukemia.

Working for Fred Hutch, I know that private donations are more important than ever. I see donors dollars going to work every day for individuals and their loved ones. Our researchers, physicians, and staff work tenaciously and around the clock to accelerate cures as fast as possible, but we need your help to achieve our mission.

Fred Hutch has made some of the world’s most important medical advances — from developing bone marrow transplantation as a cure for leukemia, to pioneering powerful therapies that harness the immune system to fight cancer, to leading national and international initiatives that enable earlier cancer diagnoses and more effective treatments. Fred Hutch is also home to 3 Nobel Peace Prize recipients. Their leading-edge research depends on private contributions that fuel novel studies, which have the power to make a profound difference.

Please click the “Donate” button and give to the Climb to Fight Cancer. Any amount you can give makes a difference to people and families facing deadly diseases. Your gift is 100 percent tax deductible and will fund extraordinary research, lifesaving discoveries, and cures. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
