In 2020 I accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the Climb to Fight Cancer by joining biotech journalist Luke Timmerman and a group of scientists, life sciences investors and executives on a trek to Everest Base Camp. After a 2 year Covid delay, I am thrilled the trek will occur March 2022. I am honored to be joining Luke in his efforts to support cancer research at Fred Hutch! Much has happened for all during the last 2 years. I am now directly working in cancer research. I recently co-founded and am CEO of hC Bioscience, Inc., a biotech focused on developing a new class of tRNA based therapeutics targeting cancer and rare genetic disease. Cancer is a devastating disease, estimated to strike one in three women and one in two men in their lifetimes. If you do the statistics, there is over a 50% chance you will either develop cancer or have a loved one develop this devastating affliction. I am climbing to raise vital funds for Fred Hutch’s lifesaving research. You can help by donating to my climb, which will accelerate the quest for cures and early diagnosis. Fred Hutch has made some of the world’s most important medical advances — from developing bone marrow transplantation as a cure for leukemia, to pioneering powerful therapies that harness the immune system to fight cancer, to leading national and international initiatives that enable earlier cancer diagnoses and more effective treatments. This leading-edge research depends on private contributions that fuel novel studies, which have the power to make a profound difference. Please make a difference. Don’t be a passive bystander in fighting cancer, lest you end up being a passive bystander in watching this disease devastate a loved one. Click the “Donate” button and give to the Climb to Fight Cancer. Any amount you can give makes a difference to people and families facing deadly diseases. Your gift is 100 percent tax deductible and will fund extraordinary research, lifesaving discoveries, and cures. Join me in my charge to make a difference.
