Emerging Frontiers in Oncology: Research, Innovation, and People MassBio
Fred Hutch’s Climb to Fight Cancer
is the perfect platform for outdoor enthusiasts to connect their love of
climbing to raising awareness and funds for cancer research. In July I’ll be
climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro as part of Luke Timmerman’s Kilimanjaro Climb to Fight
Cancer team and have committed to raising $50,000 for cancer research.
In support of this effort, I’ve
gathered a group of thought leaders, biotech execs, investors, and
entrepreneurs in the Boston community to share their perspectives at the Emerging
Frontiers in Oncology Summit. Together, we will discuss
and debate the drivers of future breakthroughs in oncology across three major
domains:
Research: Driving
breakthroughs at the source — the bench. Where is funding allocated, and how
will it shape the future pipeline?
Innovation: What’s ready for primetime? Are we still
riding a wave, or is another one on the way?
People: If webuild it, will they come – Finding and
fostering talent to lead oncology newcos.
We’ve seen many important advances in
oncology in recent years, from next-generation targeted therapies to immunotherapies
and engineered cell therapies. The summit aims to facilitate a provocative
discussion on what will drive the innovations yet to come.
Proceeds benefit the Climb to Fight Cancer at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research
Center.
Cocktails and networking will
take place at Catalyst Restaurant (300 Technology Square, Cambridge, MA 02139)
from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Together, I know we can make a
difference in the fight against cancer. Thank you for your support!
